Welcome to the official website of composer, teacher, mentor and friend, Lawrence Long! So, everyone loves this guy. This is a fact proven by the sands of time. Someone needs to name an ice cream after him, he's THAT good. (Or a building, but really, ice cream is appreciated so much more these days.) So what's the problem? He doesn't have a website! Or didn't. This website is here to begin solving this problem.
At his request, here lies the creation of his own website. It is advertisement-free and will hopefully be error-free. Keep in mind anything may change, at his discretion.
I've seen countless songs on his computer -- his Conversation Pieces, which can be ordered through Mel Bay, is the tip of the iceberg -- so most likely more will be said about his compositions. Please contact Larry Long for more information!
Larry has written a number of instructional articles. The Rule of Eight as addressed by Lawrence Long is one of these; he gave me it the summer of 2005. Others like it will probably be posted in the future.
